It’s been a while hasn’t it? Heh…
Life has been a bit hectic lately and I’m just also prettyy lazy. Just imagine summer vacation. Muahaha. Okay so since Jessica’s post about her rats, I have also gotten a pet! I adopted this adorable dog as a birthday present from a very close friend. But it basically encompasses a few years worth of birthday presents altogether.
But her name is S’mores is she’s a little over 2 years old. She is definitely a welcome thing in my life and we are both two lazy souls who just love laying down together. But she is always super excited in the morning and at night so I can take her on her long walks.
First off, I am so, so sorry for the impromtu hiatus – I’ve been busy doing boring life-maintenance whatevery things for the most part. But something really exciting happened to me recently, and I wanted to share!
Sir Edward, Mochi, and Buttons!
So here’s the story. While scrolling through my instagram list I noticed that one of the pictures was locationally-tagged at a place called Panda Café. Basically I thought of a friend who is absolutely obsessed with pandas. That and I needed to go there. I looked it up as in where it is and a bit of the reviews on yelp, otherwise I was really going in with no expectations what-so-ever. So I made plans with Jessica to go there on a Saturday.
The place is located in Elmhurst, which isn’t too far from Queens Center Mall. On this fine day I drove there with Jessica because we wanted to save on metrocard money and I said I’d drop her off at her boyfriend’s with her heavy laptop. Surprisingly parking wasn’t a nightmare to find despite it being Saturday and thus we parked and away we go~
Oy. It seems that I am a fail. A very big fail. Basically I have a whole bunch of stuff that I would love to write about, more product reviews. But it’s getting a little boring. So how about a life update?!
(No pictures because I am just super lazy)
Now the thing about me and life updates is that… there really isn’t much to my life. Well that is besides starting that new job, where I basically organize things that have to do with medical records. It’s very ~hush hush~ so I’m not gonna go further than what I’ve said so far. It’s exciting and troubling to know that any mistakes I make will be rather permanent. It’s extremely nerve wracking and I did make a few mistakes in front of one of the managers there so….. 😦 😦
On the brighter side I do have more time for things. Such as typing up more blog posts! Okay I was trying my hardest on this one about this Goldwell product that I’ve been using, and loving! But my hair just loves to give me issues. My hair has never been super curly, just wavy enough that sometimes it gets curls. But I’m pretty sure its processed to the point that it has just given up curls so… it just limply waves.
Also my face is clearing up so much!! I’ll make a skin care routine post one of these days. But I am sooo glad for this. It’s been hard to just not to smear a whole bunch of anti-acne products on my face and hope that it goes away!
FYI I have a very long list of things that I need to review but I’m a lazy butt and it’s so cold that all I want to do is curl up in a ball and not do anything. This is also why I am gaining the weight~ But I’m getting back on my workout grind so hopefully I can get myself to a healthier eating schedule soon too.
What’s up with you guyss? 😀 😀 😀
I don’t know how widespread of an event this is, but I know several big cities in the US participate in Restaurant Week. I believe it started in New York though! The idea behind it is that participating restaurants offer prix fixe lunches and dinners for a set price. Last year they raised the prices to $25 lunches and $38 dinners, but even so, it’s still often an opportunity to try out places that would normally be out of your budget! In NYC, it happens twice a year, during the winter and the summer. This time, I went to lunch with Yaling and then to dinner with my boyfriend.
Yaling and I went to a Mediterranean restaurant around Gramercy, called Barbounia. It took us days to choose a place because we wanted to go everywhereeeee. I ended up picking this one mostly based on the dessert choices, haha. No regrets – everything was fantastic (I tasted some of Yaling’s meal and gave her a few bites of my food – definitely everything) and I would gladly go back to try their regular menu! It was such a cute, cozy place too, with high, arched ceilings, chandeliers holding rows of (fake but still atmospheric!) flickering candles, booths covered with throw pillows, and cheerful music. I wish I hadn’t been too afraid to take pictures of the decor! social anxiety why do you do this to me.
Bread and olive oil that was super delicious. I hate it when restaurants give you awesome bread because then you end up eating all of it and filling up before your food arrives. But somehow I managed to inhale everything I ordered 😉
I’ve been kind of obsessed with a fair amount of things recently, and can’t tear myself away from them long enough to type out a full blog post for each of them! So I combined them into a longer post – here’s what my life has looked like lately 😀 (this is a rather poor attempt at making me look like I’ve been doing anything interesting)
My boyfriend agreed to decorate his apartment for Christmas this year, which was really exciting for me – while my family celebrates the get-together aspect of the holidays, we’ve never gotten too festive about it. So this is a little late, I know, but I wanted to share my very first Christmas tree with you! *___* (okay so my boyfriend put it up and is responsible for 100000% of it but I am laying claim to it anyway). It’s a fake tree because his apartment is carpeted, and neither of us wanted to deal with needles, haha.
Here it is at last i am sorry for taking so long aaahhhh x_______x I ended up actually losing a bunch of photos when I was messing with my phone, and so this post ended up being much smaller than I’d originally intended. It was pretty upsetting, which I think was part of the reason why I put off putting it up for so long; I was there for two months and only have such a small amount of photos to share ugh so embarrassing. But I have enough interesting pictures of food in here that hopefully someone will find it interesting .____. I will work harder on being a better blogger!
Hello hello! I’m sorry for the long absence – my boyfriend just moved into a new apartment and we’ve been cleaning (the previous tenants left this place so gross like omg I can’t even), running around, building heavy furniture, generating ridiculous amounts of garbage, cleaning some more, and generally doing way more physical activity than the two of us have probably ever done. And we still have a lot to do @____@ At the time I am typing this, we’ve only built the bed and the TV stand, and there’s nothing in the fridge but water and beer. Half our close friends seem to have decided to get new jobs/leave town for a few days right when my boyfriend needed to move haha, and I’m tiny and weak and not much help, so we are running behind a bit. But I really like this place so far, and with small touches like our Batman hand towels and owl-covered shower curtain, it’s starting to feel like home!
This is S U P E R late, but you will have to forgive me…please? 😦 😦
OK! On Sept. 21st & 22nd there was this thing called Maker Faire and I love attending it! It’s this huge DIY event and its just lovely! I think this is their 3rd or 4th year in New York. And it’s typically held at this place called the New York Hall of Science AKA NYSCI!
I really enjoy attending this because…
- It’s super cool and fun and lots of DIY things to check out and play with
- SHOPPING FOR JEWELRY!
- I get to see lots of old friends & coworkers (I used to work at NYSCI)
