It’s been a while hasn’t it? Heh…
Life has been a bit hectic lately and I’m just also prettyy lazy. Just imagine summer vacation. Muahaha. Okay so since Jessica’s post about her rats, I have also gotten a pet! I adopted this adorable dog as a birthday present from a very close friend. But it basically encompasses a few years worth of birthday presents altogether.
But her name is S’mores is she’s a little over 2 years old. She is definitely a welcome thing in my life and we are both two lazy souls who just love laying down together. But she is always super excited in the morning and at night so I can take her on her long walks.
First off, I am so, so sorry for the impromtu hiatus – I’ve been busy doing boring life-maintenance whatevery things for the most part. But something really exciting happened to me recently, and I wanted to share!
Sir Edward, Mochi, and Buttons!
I spend about half the week at my boyfriend’s apartment, and lugging things back and forth is a real pain. Some time ago I had to bring over some clothing, and I’d wanted to bring my laptop as well because we’ve started playing Diablo III again (should I get the expansion? I feel like I’d need it if I want to continue having fun) and I’d prefer to join in rather than sit there and watch him play with our friends haha. But the only thing I had to transport it is a huge messenger bag, and it doesn’t fit in the tote I use to hold my clothes. I had to leave it behind that time because I wasn’t about to carry two giant bags plus my purse onto public transportation with me. So I decided to buy a laptop sleeve! I wanted a cute one with a pocket for my power cord and mouse, and eventually stumbled across this one by Babimini on Etsy. It was adorable but a bit pricey, so I added it to my favorites but held off in hopes of finding something cheaper. I never did find one that fit my 15.6″ laptop (and had a pocket) that I quite liked as much as this one though, so after I filed my tax return, I indulged myself.
My boyfriend agreed to decorate his apartment for Christmas this year, which was really exciting for me – while my family celebrates the get-together aspect of the holidays, we’ve never gotten too festive about it. So this is a little late, I know, but I wanted to share my very first Christmas tree with you! *___* (okay so my boyfriend put it up and is responsible for 100000% of it but I am laying claim to it anyway). It’s a fake tree because his apartment is carpeted, and neither of us wanted to deal with needles, haha.
I have always loved arts, crafts, and things of that nature. Unfortunately, I am not that creative ): I’m the type of person who can follow a recipe and make the greatest food ever (…more or less), but give me a pile of ingredients and tell me to do something with it and I will probably just stare blankly at it for a while and then starve to death.
So you can imagine how excited I was when I discovered deco kits! They are basically just precounted sets of rhinestones and/or cabochons, so you can stick them to whatever you want. My phone is a Sprint-only model (the HTC EVO 4G LTE, a lengthy name for a hugeass phone. I love it though), so cute cases are few and far between. I decided it would be a lot more fun to make my own, especially when I have directions telling me exactly what to do XD My only fear was that there wouldn’t be enough rhinestones to cover a case for my gigantic phone, since a lot of these kits seem to be made with the size of the iPhone in mind.
